High Winds & Fire Danger
Posted on 12/08/2017

In Lemon Grove School District, one of our key priorities is to provide a safe and secure learning environment for students.

High winds and dry conditions have created extreme fire danger in San Diego County. While there are currently no power issues at our schools and no fires near our schools at this time, we are monitoring the situation carefully.

I would encourage you to stay informed about local wind and fire conditions and related updates:

  • If you have an Apple or Android smartphone or tablet, download the county's free mobile app SD Emergency (http://www.readysandiego.org/sdemergencyapp/). This has all the features of the ReadySanDiego website to help you prepare, and during an emergency, it will alert users and carry updates and maps.

  • Visit sdcountyemergency.com, which the county regularly updates during emergencies.

We will share information with you as the situation unfolds, and you can always check here for related notifications from our district. We look forward to seeing your child on Friday, December 8th for a safe day of learning in our schools.

Yours in Education,

Dr. Kimberly Berman

Superintendent
