Dear Lemon Grove Academy Students and Families,
It is hard to believe that we are in the final stretch of the 2014-15 school year. As we start planning for the end of the year, here are a few dates to remember:
Dance & Band Performance
Wizard of Oz Dress Rehearsals
5/26 & 5/27
3:00 & 2:00 pm
7th Grade Jog a thon
Band & Orchestra’s Knotts Berry Farm Performance
7:30 am departure
Wizard of Oz Performances
6/3 & 6/4
8th Grade vs Staff Softball Game
8th Grade Yearbook Signing Party
8th Grade Harbor Cruise
7th Grade End of the Year Celebration
8th Grade Promotion
Last Day of School
12:30 pm dismissal
Please remember that students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 to be eligible for promotion and promotion-related activities. We are pleased to report that currently, there are only a handful of students who are in jeopardy of not meeting the criteria. Letters have been mailed to these families and school administrators have met with these students and families on multiple occasions. In addition, satisfactory citizenship/behavior inside and outside of the classroom is a requirement to participate in these activities.
It is important to understand that all school rules and expectations are in effect during the promotion and end of the year events. Adherence to the behavior and dress-code standards is fully expected. In the unlikely event that a student is not following these expectations, he or she will not be able to participate in the event and will have additional consequences. This includes the dress-code expectations for the harbor cruise and promotion ceremony. I encourage families to review these expectations as outlined in the student handbook.
I look forward to a memorable and exciting end of the year!
Hello Lemon Grove families. In the fall 2015, 8th grade students will have a unique opportunity to visit the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles as an extension of the 8th grade Holocaust unit. This is a powerful experience for students, as it provides a hands-on learning experience of events that happened during and after World War II.
